Latino Community Liaison
In August 2011, Laura Valencia, joined Napa Valley Hospice and Adult Day Services (NVHADS) with the aim of strengthening the relationship with the Latino community and serve as a link to our programs and services. During the past 10 years, Laura has worked as an activist on issues related to the Latino community, specifically in the areas of education, immigration, farmers and the elderly. Currently a student at Sonoma State University, she plans to complete a master’s degree in the field of social work.
Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, Laura moved to Napa at the age of 7. As a result of her personal experience with her brother, leukemia survivor, and through caring for her mother after suffering a stroke, she is dedicated to serving and supporting her community with the same determination and principles.
Laura gives great importance to the goal of providing high quality care and services to people with various social, cultural and linguistic needs. With her support, it is our goal to increase understanding and access our programs and services within the Latino community.
